Battlefield V Combat Roles: Assault Class

Battlefield V Assault Class: Combat Roles

Combat roles in any Battlefield game have always been crucial to the series but now Battlefield V combat roles have taken it up a notch for each class!

The Assault Class is the door-kicker, always out front and best when it comes to close or medium range battles. Choose this Class if you want to lead an attack or clear out dug-in, stubborn enemies in the nooks and crannies of an area. Although lacking the outright stopping power of a sniper rifle or suppression of an LMG or MMG, good positioning can let you rain down accurate potshots at enemies from a distance and use gadgets to obliterate some vehicles.

Assault offers a balance of offense and defense in most situations – both anti-infantry and the Class best equipped to leave vehicles in a fiery heap. However, it’s difficult for the Assault Class to hard-counter sniper fire, so be careful not to get caught out in the open.

Weapons and Gadgets
Assault comes equipped with weapons that have effective hip-fire and respectable range. Their gadgets can weaken or destroy some vehicles, topple Fortifications, and wipe out a nest of enemies with one well-placed sticky dynamite or grenade.

Weapons and gadgets are set per Class and more can be unlocked just by playing. Weapons can be customized as part of your Company.

Combat Roles
These are tied to Classes and provide two traits. Pick a Class and Combat Role with a loadout that suits your playstyle but be ready to make a switch at the deploy overview screen to adapt to on the ground situations.

Each Class gets two Combat Roles at launch with one equipped as a default, and the other unlocked by playing. More will release as part of Tides of War, giving players enough time to master each before providing them with additional options to choose from.
Light Infantry (Default)

Face it, sometimes the job of the Assault is to be outright reckless, running muzzle first into the thick of battle. The first of our Assault Combat Roles, Light Infantry, compensates for the extra bullet holes you might incur in the service of your squad with the ability to regenerate more health.

This Combat Role is also for the quick draw shooter who doesn’t always have the proximity of a Support player or enough breathing room to stop and smell the supply point. You know the art of the secret ammo stash and can scavenge additional ammo from fallen soldiers.

Light Infantry Traits
Scavenger: Find more ammo on defeated enemies and fallen comrades.
Battle Hardened: Regenerate a higher amount of Health than other Combat Roles.

Tank Buster (Unlockable)
Keep playing the Assault Class to unlock the Tank Buster. When the enemy team starts deploying tanks mid-match, spawn as the Tank Buster to soften their steel shell and automatically spot them to everyone on your team, so they can help put the tank out of its misery.

Also, if it’s you that destroys a spotted tank, you’ll reap extra Requisition Points that let your squad call in Reinforcements, like tanks and V-1 rockets, at a quicker pace.

Tank Buster Traits
Tank Painter: Vehicles that you damage become spotted.
Tank Scrapper: Vehicles that you destroy yield additional Requisition.
