Battlefield 2 Zhisheng-8 (Z-8 Transport Helicopter)

Battlefield 2 Zhisheng-8: The medium-sized Battlefield 2 Chinese Z-8 is based on the French Super Frelon transport helicopter. China purchased 13 of these helicopters in the early 1970s, and reverse-engineered them to produce their own version for use in rapid-deployment operations.
Fitted with two powerful 1,500 hp turboshaft engines, the Z-8 is capable of transporting 27 armed soldiers, 5,000 kg of cargo on an external cable, or one Yu-7 torpedo for anti-submarine warfare missions. In addition, two door-mounted machine guns give the Z-8 the ability to assist infantry with close-in fire support.
• The French SA 321 Super Frelon first flew in 1962. The first flight of a Chinese made Z-8 took place in 1985.
• The majority of China’s Z-8s are operated by the PLA Navy supporting PLA Marines. A modified army variant is still in development.
