In 2009, DICE released Battlefield Heroes as a free-to-play, more casual take on the franchise. Though it was the odd one out, Heroes featured several classic Battlefield pillars such as Conquest mode, a soldier class system, and iconic WW2 military gear. The battles between the National Army and the Royal Army ended in 2015 when Battlefield Heroes was shut down, but the memories remain! Released: 25 June 2009
