Battlefield 1 Specializations

Check out some information on the all new Battlefield 1 Specializations. Here to bring you up to speed is Alex Sulman, Senior Gameplay Designer.

What are Specializations?
Specializations are designed to let you develop your Battlefield 1 tactics through new soldier loadout options. They will also increase the strategic potential within each of the four main classes – Assault, Medic, Support, and Scout – and thereby give you new ways of supporting your team.

What kind of Specializations are there?
All players now have 3 default Specializations designed to provide support in common areas of the game. These default Specializations are:

Flak – Incoming damage from explosions is reduced by 10%
Cover – Incoming suppression is reduced by 25%
Quick Regen – Decrease time before Out of Combat heal by 20%

You can unlock more Specializations by completing their associated Service Assignments. These Specializations take two forms, generic and class-specific.

Generic (equippable by all 4 main classes)
Quick Unspot – Decrease length of time you are spotted by 2 seconds
Bayonet Training – Bayonet charge lasts 1 second longer and recovers 1 second quicker
Hasty Retreat – Increase maximum sprint speed whilst suppressed by 10%
Inconspicuous – When stationary or moving slowly you are invisible to Spot Flares

Class-specific (equippable only by the respective Class)

Assault
Juggernaut – Your Gas Mask also reduces explosive damage by 20%
Controlled Demolition – Your Dynamite will now detonate sequentially

Medic
Concealed Rescue – Downed squad mates within 20m drop smoke to cover their revival
Stimulant Syringe – After reviving an ally you both gain a 20% boost in sprint speed for 8 seconds

Support
Unbreakable – Incoming suppression is reduced by 75% when your bipod is deployed
Pin Down – The duration an enemy remains spotted is extended via your suppression

Scout
Scapegoat – A decoy is automatically deployed when struck below 45 health by a distant enemy
Perimeter Alarm – Enemies within 15 meters of your triggered trip mines are marked on the mini-map

How do I choose a Specialization?
